Mr Samson is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 15 years experience in the power sector and joins TAPCO from Marubeni Corporation where he was previously employed as a Vice-President of Marubeni Power International in New York . Mr Samson has extensive experience in leading multi-disciplined teams in implementing successful projects in the sector, including the UniMar 500MW BOT project in Turkey . More recently, Mr Samson has been involved in various business development efforts and was a key player in the development team which was successful in winning the Taweelah B privatisation. Mr Samson has also worked previously for GEC Alstom, PA Consulting Group and Mirant Corporation.

Rafid Azzawi graduated from Birmingham University in 1987 and has a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Following graduation he joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he spent seven years and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Rafid has over eighteen years experience in a variety of industries including property investment, retail, oil field services and the utility sector. Prior to being seconded to TAPCO Rafid held the position of Utility Advisor with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, a subsidiary of ADWEA.

Mr. Tauseef is an Electrical Engineer and an MBA with over 14 years experience in the Power Sector. Mr. Tauseef has served with UAE’s first and the third IWPP i.e. Emirates CMS Power Company and Shuweihat CMS International Power Company as Commercial Manager. After successfully spearheading the Commercial activities in these Plants, Mr. Tauseef joined TAPCO. Before coming to UAE, Mr. Tauseef has served in the Technical, Finance and Commercial Departments of Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan (WAPDA), and also headed the Commercial Department of Pakistan’s biggest Power Plant known as Kot Addu Power Plant, a 1500 MW Combined Cycle Plant.
Nasser Al Ali , HR Manager, TAPCO |
Mr. Al Ali has more than 15 years experience in the HR field. He has started his career with GAMCO in 1989, then joined HCT in 1992, and then ADNOC in 1998 for a year and half before joining ADWEA in 1999. He joined TAPCO on 05th of November 2006 as HR Manager and is also responsible for managing the HR & Administration function in O&M Company, Asia Gulf Power Services Company. Mr. Al Ali holds a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management Since 1996.
Shinya Ogata, Finance Manager, TAPCO |
Shinya Ogata is seconded to TAPCO from Marubeni after working with Marubeni for 6 years based in Tokyo Japan where he has been involved in development, operation and management of various IPP projects in South Asian countries like India and Pakistan and Middle East. He was also involved in development of Taweelah B IWPP project from early stage and made an active contribution to its successful development.
Michio Hayashibara, Managing Director, AGPSCO

Mr. Hayashibara from Hiroshima, Japan has been working for Marubeni Corporation for 25 years after studying international politics, where he was involved in various power projects, especially in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal etc. before he was assigned as General Manager, Power & Water Division, Marubeni Corporation Abu Dhabi Office in 2002 and joined AGPS in 2005. Mr. Hayashibara has extensive experience especially in business development as a local representative and stayed in Karachi, New Delhi and Abu Dhabi for 12 years in total.
Loh Lim Huat, Deputy Managing Director, AGPSCO

Ir. Loh is a Professional Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (FIEM) with over 20 years experience in the power sector and joins AGPS from Powertek Berhad where he was previously employed as a Senior Manager (Operations) of a combined cycle power plant in Malaysia. Ir. Loh has extensive experience in Operations and Maintenance of power plant and has worked in various positions of multi-fuel conventional thermal and combined cycle power plants, including the 500 MW Bayernwerk Kraftwerk, Schwandorf in Germany and 2,420 MW Kapar Power Station in Malaysia . He has also experience in various business development activities. Previously , Mr. Loh has also worked for Tenaga Nasional Berhad and TÜV Suddeutschland Group. Ir. Loh is also a fully qualified competent Steam Engineer and Internal Combustion Engineer.
Juha Suomi, Asset Manager, AGPSCO |
Mr Suomi has Masters Degrees in the areas of the Mechanical Engineering and Energy Economics and has 13 years experience in the Combined Heat and Power sector. Mr Suomi works for Fortum, leading energy company in Nordic countries, and is assigned for the duties of Asset Manager of the AGPSCo. Mr Suomi has been working in the international IPP projects since 1995 and has extensive experience in the field of management of operations and maintenance activities.
