About Us Project

The Shuweihat S1 Independent Water and Power Project comprises a “greenfield” power generation and water desalination facility (the “Plant”) currently being built at Jebel Dhana, near Shuweihat, situated about 260 kilometres west of the City of Abu Dhabi, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (the “Project”). The Project is being developed on a build, own and operate basis

The Project comprises, among other things, the following activities and components:

  • The development, design, engineering, procurement, financing, construction, testing, commissioning, ownership and operation and maintenance of the Plant having a net capacity of 1,500 MW of power and 100 MIGD of water;

  • The development, design, engineering, procurement, financing, construction, testing and commissioning of 220kV and 400kV grid stations and a potable water pumping station (the “Special Facilities”) and the transfer upon completion of the Special Facilities to the Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (“TRANSCO”);
